Petrographical and geochemical investigations to identify the stone materials were carried out by the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Parma. Parma Cathedral embraces much of the memory of the cultural and artistic past of the city of parma. The Cathedral dates back to IV - V Century A.D. and the first paleo-Christian Basilica, probably located outside the main Roman walls of the city, where the Cathehdral Sacristy stands today.....
